To blog or not to blog, that is the question.... that appears to mostly be answered in the negative.
Perhaps that needs to change a little, in honor of that here are a few new photos, and (like before) perhaps a new birth of the blog.
Without further ado:
And as always feel free to visit me on Facebook or check out my work on genparkerphoto.com.

Lensbaby Experiments
So I finally went and rented a lensbaby. This rental has been a long time coming.
Here are a few shots from my first day experimenting with the lens.
There are a few more over on my Facebook page.

It's been a while
Long time no blog.
For now I'm just going to post some photos from a few recent concerts. I'll be getting back here more with new projects though.
Without further ado, the kick off of the resurrection of the blog.

Orchid & Hound in LA
Shooting in low light is always a challenge. It is even more of a challenge when you can't use a flash, or any form of tripod (except maybe the makeshift one you make of a ledge or table, which isn't always useful when you have musicians moving around the stage) Whenever I can I like to avoid going over an ISO of 400, sometimes that just isn't possible. Last week when shooting Orchid & Hound at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, I found myself shooting not only at f/1.8, but at ISO 800 and still having exposure times that barely were hand holdable. Definitely a bit of a challenge, but in the end I there was some success. Also, the show itself was quite fun. Check them out if you get the chance.

Photo of the Day - Rehearsal Dinner
So here is today's Photo of the Day (even though they are quite a bit less than daily).
I shot this last night at a rehearsal dinner. The lighting conditions were quite a bit less than ideal (which I expected, but had hoped wouldn't happen), but the food, table settings, and people were all wonderful.
Congratulations to them on their wedding today!

The Body Parts @ Berkeley Rep
At some point a few years ago I stopped taking pictures at concerts. As of last night, that is no longer the case.
Last night I had the chance to see The Body Parts play on the Thrust Stage at Berkeley Rep. So I took myself, a friend, and my new 50mm f/1.8 lens to the show.
(Ryder Bach, Alina Cutrono, and Matt Sobel of The Body Parts)
While it would be fair to say the band is not for everyone (though what is really?) I quite enjoyed the show.
