Orchid & Hound in LA

Shooting in low light is always a challenge. It is even more of a challenge when you can't use a flash, or any form of tripod (except maybe the makeshift one you make of a ledge or table, which isn't always useful when you have musicians moving around the stage) Whenever I can I like to avoid going over an ISO of 400, sometimes that just isn't possible. Last week when shooting Orchid & Hound at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, I found myself shooting not only at f/1.8, but at ISO 800 and still having exposure times that barely were hand holdable. Definitely a bit of a challenge, but in the end I there was some success. Also, the show itself was quite fun. Check them out if you get the chance.
